Rainy Day Sun

So it's been a grey and rainy November for the most part. Perfect weather for writing in fact. Most of my time has been spent on the Pike Lake tie in When the Windows Shook and I have added over 2000 words this weekend. The limit is 8000 words for the competition I'm entering and it is so far standing at 5k, so there is room. The short story is actually giving a bit of depth to Pike Lake and I think I know where I want to take it next. This story has forced me to immerse myself more in the village of Slinger and feels strange and I hope they don't take offense that I am killing off people there.

I am still getting a lot of inspiration from Ramsey Campbell and so far will be borrowing from him. I have also started getting into Michael Shea and hope to get some ideas from him. My goal is to finish the short story in the coming week do I can edit and send it off before the end of the year.

Cheers,

Chris
