Initially, my goal was going to do a blogpost about the bluecrosses to deepen both my own and your understanding of them and the world. Instead, I hit both my writing goal for the day 3k+ and finished chapter number two. This has furthered the storyline a bit as it contained the anointing of the new king Drosboe Fall. Several new characters in the Kingdom of Alland, yes I finally named the kingdom, appeared in this chapter. Part of the chapter takes place in The Temple of the Sun in the Three Crowns. This is where the anointment takes place and we meet Rein Aopf, the new drots, Porse Cetir the new marsk, and the king Drosboe Fall.
Drosboe manages to upset the gathered frelsi by doing things his own way and pray to another god. In Alland they worship a plethora of gods, the same ones that dominate my other fantasy world, I will delve deeper into this in some later post. Drosboe and his family or ætt as they refer to it come from the East, and are ofrelsi (commoners) and pray to The White One or White God. This might create issues between the new king and parliament.
In the second part,now-former we are introduced to Jörgen and Jöns Silch, the now former princes of the kingdom. Used to a life of debauchery and hedonism Jörgen sees that existence disappearing once their funds run out. These two figures are you,r typical roguish cads, living fast and presumably dying young. In this part of the chapter, I try a few things I haven't done before in a fantasy. What that might be? You'll have to wait to read it. Though suffice it to say, there are a few parts I'm unsure will work.
